Actually, there's a lot more than shopping coming up. The weather hasn't yet blessed us with much snow yet, but as we saw last year, all we need is one good storm! In the meantime, let me give you some ideas on what to do this long weekend.

Take a wander around Lost Lake. Trails range from wide gravel to technical single track in the woods. There are several good vantage points around the lake or you could walk all the way to Nick North. Sometimes I like to come back on the valley trail which is accessed from Meadow Park. It makes a huge loop bringing you back to the Village.

With a vehicle that has some clearance, you could go check out the Ancient Cedars at Cougar Mountain. It's a fun place to spend some time with your camera and a few people to show the scale.

Saturday and Sunday is the market. There's a variety of goodies! Jewellery, ceramics, chocolate, art and food products. It's entry by donation in the Conference Centre. Bratz Biz showcases some of the talented youth that live in Whistler and Pemberton.

The Scandinave Spa is also the perfect place to chill for a few hours. After the long walk, enjoy the steam, saunas, hot tubs and cold baths. It often sells out in the winter but shoulder season is a good time to spend a few quiet hours here.

The Audain Art Museum has Ancestral Modern, Australian Aboriginal Art on now through Christmas. (Their gift shop is another good Christmas shopping spot!) It's always a treat to wander through their permanent collection as well.

Or you could go up the mountain for a few turns after all. Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
